State of Origin Results, Scores & Winners

State of Origin

The State of Origin series is a best of three series held annually between the New South Wales Blues and the Queensland Maroons Australian Rugby League state representative sides.

State of Origin is one of Australia’s biggest sporting events, particularly in the states which are represented.

Cameron Smith has made the most State of Origin appearances with 43, behind him are Johnathan Thurston with 37 and Darren Lockyer with 36.

Below is a table of State of Origin scores, Man of the Match Winners and scores for every State of Origin game throughout history.

The Wally Lewis Medal

From the years 1992 to 2003 the Wally Lewis Medal was presented by the Queensland Rugby League to the best Queensland player of the State of Origin Series. Since 2003 however, it was adopted as an award to recognise the player of the series, regardless of state.

Wally Lewis is a legend of Queensland Rugby having represented Queensland in 31 State of Origin games from 1980 to 1991, captaining 30 of them. He also represented Australia in 33 international rugby league matches from 1981 to 1991 and was national team captain from 1984 to 1989.

In the table below, is a list of Wally Lewis Medal, and Man of the Match winners.
