Dally M Medal Winners

Dally M Award

The Dally M Medal is given each year to the NRL player voted as the ‘Player of the year’ over the National Rugby League regular season. The Dally M has been awarded since 1980, but was only recognised as the official award for the Player of the Year since 1998. Prior to that the Player of the Year, in the Brisbane Rugby League and New South Wales Rugby League received the Rothmans Medal during which time the Dally M was awarded by the Daily Mirror newspaper.

The Dally M Medal is named after Henry Herbert ‘Dally’ Messenger, who was a major part in the establishment of rugby league in Australia.

Much like the Norm Smith Medal, the Dally M Medal takes a massive amount of betting action from the punters when it comes to the NRL Grand Final.
