Bet365 Review

Below is a comprehensive and honest bet365 review, including our user experience for sports and racing markets on the site, the history of bet365, and the pros and cons of using the bet365 website.

This bet365 review will be updated through new versions of the site, new offers and unique features that bet365 have to offer.

Who are Bet365?

Bet365 is a wagering company based in the United Kingdom, with a license obtained in Australia in 2012.

Bet365 Australia products are licensed and regulated by the NTRC (Northern Territory Racing Commission), with the UK version of the site regulated by the UK Gambling Commission.

Outside of Australia, Bet365 offer markets for sports and racing along with poker, bingo, and casino games. Due to Bet365’s Australian license regulations however, they are not able to provide poker, bingo, casino games or online in-play betting to Australian customers.

Bet365 is one of the premier wagering companies in the world, with over 7 million customers throughout 200 countries.

Unfortunately for the Aussies, there is no online in-play betting with Bet365, due to gambling regulations, with customers required to place live bets over the phone, just like our dads used to do.

Bet365 refer to themselves as “The world’s favourite online betting company”.

Bet 365 Website Layout

Homepage

The Bet365 interface place a hell of a lot of emphasis on markets, and entering the homepage you’ll see markets galore.

The website is fully responsive, and changes its layout from 3-4 columns as you zoom in and out, and adjust the screen size.

On the LHS are the usual markets, unfortunately there are no drop-down menus for subcategories, and a new page will load where you must search for separate leagues and futures.

As we said there are LOT of markets on the homepage, with the Next 3 races to run in the center section, along with all of the day’s markets for most sports.

The RHS menu includes the betslip, promotional offers and markets for next up sports. To be honest the markets on the homepage are a little overkill, and sure it’s great to have a lot of markets on show, but it’s even better to be able to find them quickly, and that’s what’s lacking here.

Certain sports also feature a “BetRadar” which will open information and statistics for a single game market. This includes past matchup history for each teams previous games, results between the two teams playing, fixtures and historical data.

This is a fantastic feature that the other agencies have yet to develop, and gives good insight into a head to head market.

If you’re viewing the BetRadar for football teams, you will also have a visual of league table and results for an entire league, with a full fixtures list, players guide, form table, team statistics and plenty more.

Bloody great.

Bet 365 Sports League Markets

Here we find it a little confusing. When opening, for example, the main AFL category from the LHS menu, you are taken to a page where the first thing you see is a plethora of bet types, however no markets for each game can be fond, until a fair bit of scrolling has taken place. This is pretty annoying.

So for ease of use of actually finding a specific game and it’s markets is a thumb down from us.

Great markets no doubt, perhaps the best, but finding them is a little tough.

Single match markets –

Single match markets are pretty much the industry standard, with H2H, margin and line betting in the first fold, with player props and other exotic markets presented in an accordion format further down the page.

When a match is live is when it becomes interesting.

When a match is “In-Play” an excellent presentation for a live match layout is presented.

Here you will be able to view the scoreboard, team statistics, a live position of the ball on the ground with text commentary on the game.

Similar to the ESPN GameCast, and an excellent feature of the Bet365 site.

Bet 365 Racing Markets

The main racing markets page layout is nice, with Next 3 races to jump at the top front and center, and all upcoming race markets below.

The individual racing markets are very easy to find, unlike their individual sports game markets.

Horse racing, greyhounds and harness racing are available in 3 separate sections – UK & Ireland, International, and Australia.  Races from meetings across Australia are offered every day and Antepost markets are available for major Australian racing events.

Single Race Markets

Single racing markets are well presented, with jockey silks and all of the relevant Tote and Fixed Win markets easy to find. Clicking on the “i” information button will expand to the form for a runner.

Below the main markets lie the exotics, which features all runners in a separate table with tabs to toggle for Forecast/Tricast, Quinella/Exacta, Trifecta and First Four. Having two separate lists/tables for regular and exotic markets is something we haven’t seen with other betting sites, and we aren’t sure whether we like it or not. We’ll leave it up to you.

There is also a full form guide available for each race. The layout is not as nice as the William Hill form guide for racing, but it serves its purpose and will allow punters to read the form for all runners in a race easily. It is also very easy to find form for other races on the day using the LHS menu to search for other events.

All in all the racing markets and usability is excellent with Bet365. Much better presentation than their sports markets.

Bet Slip

The betslip is displayed on the RHS and is consistent as you navigate the website. Your net profit is calculated and displayed automatically as you input your stake amount. This is in different than most Aussie bookmakers, who display total profit rather than net profit for each leg.

The betslip features a ‘Multiple Options’ tab, which displays combinations of multibets using the legs in your bet slip. Multi betting punters will enjoy the features, with Trixie, Yankee, Super Yankee, Heinz, and so forth on offer.

Unique Site Features

In-Play Sports Markets “Match Live” – As we stated earlier, being able to watch the live stats, scores and comments for plays of a game in real time is a great feature that is light years ahead of what some of the other agencies offer.

Live Match Alerts – Notifications send directly to your phone for soccer, horse racing and tennis. Including –

  • Soccer – Goals, Substitutions, Yellow and Red Cards, Half Time Result, Full Time Result, Penalty Awarded and Penalty Missed. Team-specific alerts can also be set for a week or the whole season.
  • Tennis – Start of Match, Final Score, Game Results and Set Results.
  • Thoroughbred Racing – Race Results, Non-Runners, Race Off and Going Down.

Auto Cash Out – Bet365 have the option to create an ‘Auto Cash Out’ request once your bet has been placed. If the Cash Out value reaches or exceeds the threshold you have set, your bet will automatically be settled and the funds added to your balance. Definitely a unique feature.

Live Streaming of sports and racing – Bet 365 offer live streaming of Victorian thoroughbred racing and selected sports.

BetCall – bet365 offers a BetCall feature, which enables you to place in-play bets using the microphone on your device or PC. Live bets are processed through an automated call.

Live Sports Betting

Bet365 does not offer live betting, and Australians must phone in directly to bet live on sports. According to the Interactive Gambling Act, bookies aren’t allowed to offer live online betting within Australia.

Adherence to the Act is the responsibility of wagering operators and not individual wagering members of Bet365. It is not an offence for Australian residents to bet live “in-play” online.

Of all of the online wagering companies, Bet365 offer the simplest in-play betting service of any Australian bookmaker. A large selection of sports are available in-play, with many accompanied by live streaming feeds.

To be able to view the live streaming feeds, a member only requires a non-zero account balance or an outstanding wager. This makes Bet365 an affordable way to watch live sport online. An example of example of sports covered are Scottish Premier League football, English Championship football, South American Football, ATP and WTA tennis, volleyball, squash, table tennis and badminton.

Bet 365 Promotions

Generally speaking in comparison to the likes of CrownBet, SportsBet and Ladbrokes, the promotions offered by Bet365 are relatively weak.

Multibet boosts are offered on AFL, Soccer ie.

Bet Type Increased Returns
Trebles 5%
4-folds 10%
5-folds 10%
6-folds 20%

etc…
